Through God's training, I have come to understand that when I am troubled without a seemingly valid reason, it's supernatural in nature. What I am sensing troubles me. This word that I am inspired to write out troubles me. All I can do is share and allow God to BE God. When God pulls me out of my self-imposed break from my website, there is no doubt about the importance of this word. I pray it blesses you.
People of God, I believe we are about to leave Egypt and we will not be returning. God showed Himself to be a faithful provider for the Children of Israel when Pharaoh let God’s people go. God made sure they were set up to prosper in their new lives because He told them to ask for the riches of Egypt to take along with them when they would leave (Exodus 12:36). They never went hungry for long (Exodus 16:8), their clothes and shoes never wore out (Deuteronomy 8:4), they had Moses who God appointed to be their spokesman between God and God’s people, they had Aaron who God appointed as their priest, God provided them with shelter, protection, and safety (Exodus 13:21-22) YET, the Children of Israel complained and rebelled. They made a golden calf idol while Moses was away spending time with God. The pressure from the people made Aaron buckle and disobey God to appease the people (Exodus 32).
This is NOT a time to be an Aaron or a Saul (afraid of/too dependent on the approval of people). Nothing is new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9) the Word says. I expect God’s people TODAY will do exactly what the Children of Israel did THEN, but I pray God’s mercy.
I believe the riches God instructed the Children of Israel to ask for before leaving Egypt will look slightly different for our present day. What God has instructed you to begin creating maybe a few years ago, a year ago, or more recently, will begin to become clearer. You will have a better understanding of where He is taking YOU as the world around us continues to drastically change. You must be diligent with your relationship with God in order to keep up. I believe new riches for us will come in the form of strategies for building whatever God has instructed YOU to build.
Many of us want things to go back to "normal"—they won't. A part of the Children of Israel’s, complaint was: due to their “perceived” struggles, they thought and spoke from their mouths accusations against Moses and God—they said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food! (Numbers 21:5).”
They were so comfortable living in oppression that rather than believing God for what He had spoken through Moses about the new land even though they would face hardships during the journey but WITH GOD on their side, they wanted to return to captivity (Exodus 16:3). In the land we are leaving, there have been evils committed that many of us have no concept of. Furthermore, if we knew, I am not sure if or how we would be able to cope with the status of the REAL world. So, no, I do not choose to go back to “normal.” Times have changed but the propensity of humanity to do evil things has not. Please refer to Ezekiel 8.
I want to make it clear that no act of mankind or science can change what will indeed happen if we choose to disregard the instructions in 2 Chronicles 7:14. I believe like the Children of Israel, it is God's desire to guide us to the land He promised our ancestors (Exodus 6:6-8). Remember, this journey was purposed to test the heart and faithfulness God’s people (Deuteronomy 8:2) and they failed. What is dangerous about this journey isn't so much anything we will face, because AGAIN, God provided everything the Children of Israel needed. In reading the entire Book of Exodus, you will see that God did so much more for the Children of Israel. I believe He will do the same for us. What WILL be dangerous is ourselves. Right now, many of us are ready and willing to give up our rights for a little more freedom with the help of science. To be clear, this is a mistake. AGAIN, when Moses went up to receive the laws from God for the Children of Israel, they grew weary of waiting and due to the pressure from the people, Aaron built them a golden calf idol to worship. Mind you, this was AFTER the Lord had faithfully provided for them.
People of God, we must not be like the children of Israel. We must remember the faithfulness of God (Deuteronomy 8). We must remember what He has already done for us. We must not allow difficult times to drive us to seeking help from anywhere else but from God. Help will not come from anyone else BUT God. Similar to the Children of Israel, our complaining, rebellion, idol worship, and fear, will extend our stay into the wilderness (Numbers 14:33-35). I believe God is prepared to raise up the next generation (really young kids) to do with the Joshuas what didn't happen with the generation of their parents and grandparents with the Moseses, when we prove to be unworthy to enter the land God promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As scripture outlines, many of the children of Israel died in the wilderness (Number 14:29). I believe this journey will also be a test from God regarding our hearts and willingness to be obedient—we must choose to pass.
At this present time, we must choose to be the two leaders (Joshua and Caleb) of the twelve who had favorable things to say about the new land DESPITE what they saw and what the other ten reported (Numbers 13). Our words hold power (Numbers 14:28-35). Our experiences have not been wasted. God has shown us individually how faithful He is to provide for us and keep us safe. We just have to decide to have courage to lean on what He has already shown us He is capable of doing for us.
Courage isn't the absence of fear, it is PLOWING THROUGH that fear.
People of God, your Father has got your backs—believe Him. Believe God most, especially when you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is faith. It is through faith in God alone NOT MANKIND, that will get us THROUGH.
I urge you all to pray as you are led by Holy Spirit. I urge you all to:
*Pray to be faithful to God.
*Pray for hearts of gratitude.
*Pray against our tendency to complain.
*Pray for God's eyes so we may see the new land He is taking us to just as He sees it.
*Pray forgiveness for the souls who will die in the wilderness.
*Pray for the Joshuas and the Calebs to rise.
*Pray for God’s will to be done.
*Pray that God’s mercy be with us all.
Isaiah 4:5-6 NIV (December 15, 2020)
5 "Then the Lord will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over everything the glory will be a canopy. 6 It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain."
Exodus 23:20 NIV (January 8, 2020)
20 “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared."
