I released a blog post last year: "Get Ready For Trouble": From Shoes to the Sword. I would encourage you to read it to get caught up, then come back here.
Let's Continue...
There are so many prophetic details relating to the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. I would encourage you as you are led by Holy Spirit to search them out. It is important that you understand the times and seasons in which you are living.
One particular detail during this monumental moment in history is after he was shot and got down to the ground. Once his security team got ready to stand him up, you can hear him saying, "let me get my shoes." He was seemingly caught off guard or by surprise (losing the fitted nature of the PRE-paredness of the Gospel of Peace). The power in being prepared BEFORE an event occurs. This is significant for those in Christ, the ones who are able to put on the Full Armor of God. Being ready at all times will be a blessing to us. In Mr. Trump requesting to get his shoes, he instantly placed himself in a position to become prepared to "Fight. Fight. Fight," his famous words mouthed to the world once he was back on his feet and being ushered to relative safety.
Let's Dive...
In America, when we say "the gloves are coming off" we mean, there's going to be a fight of some sort. So, what does it mean when shoes come off?
Many have pointed to the time when President Trump was shot "6:11pm" and have connected it to Ephesians 6:11 which reads: "Put on the full Armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." This verse is important because, in this time and season, we are being instructed to armor up. Not just any armor, but the FULL Armor of God. In order to "stand" it is important that our feet are fitted with the PRE-paration (some versions say READINESS) of the Gospel of Peace. Why? This is no longer a time of peace as the world would consider it, but of war–naturally and supernaturally. When Jesus first sent His disciples out (12 then 72), their mission was one of peace in spreading The Gospel, as evidenced by His specific instructions (Matthew 10; Mark 6:6-13; Luke 9:1-6; Luke 10:1-16). However, before Jesus was to be arrested, He prepared His disciples with this: "³⁵ Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?" "Nothing," they answered. ³⁶ He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one (Luke 22: 35-36 NIV)."
Undoubtedly, the context of these verses this time is one of conflict as opposed to relative peace.
I am now here in an effort to challenge the ways in which we have all been accustomed to engaging the word "peace" as we continue through this season of war.
Armor Up!
Helmet of Salvation
Breastplate of righteousness
Shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy
The Belt of Truth around our waist
Our feet fitted with THE PREPARATION (Strong's G2091 hetoimasia) of the Gospel of Peace
And prayer in the Spirit- Ephesians 6:14-19
...
What is the Gospel? Literally the Good News (Acts 2:38-39; Acts 3:19-20). What is "peace"? More than a word and more than a noun. How do we know the word "PEACE!" packs a punch to the enemy? When Jesus was faced with the winds and the waves as He was on His way to His next Divine Appointment, He spoke, "Peace, be still!" "Then the wind died down and it was completely calm (Mark 4:39)." Note the question His disciples then asked: "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!" With the authority and power (Luke 10:19) that Jesus has given us, in His name, we can certainly do the same as the Lord God wills.
The Good News here is...
God has never left us without strategies for victory. We must bring the power of "PEACE!" to the personal spaces of every human being we encounter who is battling with hell or on their way there once they leave this world. We must bring the power of "PEACE!" into every atmosphere. We must engage every Mountain of Influence in our society, in Jesus' name.
3 Resoruces...
1.) I am sharing two videos with you that I hope you will make the time to watch and speak to God about. I believe these both convey the message of the power of "PEACE!" much better than I can.
2.) I am also sharing this blog post with you: Gearing Up, because I believe we should know the weapons of the Believer's warfare, the Believer in Jesus Christ.
3.) Lastly, if what you are seeing or being told cannot be backed up by Scripture, it's okay to be skeptical about it. You should be. However, don't stop at skepticism. Take it to God in prayer. Allow God's confirmation or rejection to be your final stance. Always.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV
"³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: ⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) ⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; ⁶ And having in A READINESS (Strong's G2092 hetoimos) revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
