BELIEVE God for the IMPOSSIBLE!

The Dream...

At some point yesterday morning (7/27/23), I had a dream. In this dream, I looked out the window in my bedroom and saw deer and a moose. The end.

Following the Dream...

Before my husband left for work, I told him about this dream. What he said was to the effect of: "we'd never see a moose here." I responded with: "I don't know. That's what I saw."

My Process...

Later in the morning, I began cutting up some fruit and was listening to part two of a YT live by Tiphani Montgomery. Placing our focus on things of the Lord can bless us even in the most interesting of times. As she told us the title: "The Cloud is About to Burst" and went on to share how it came about as well as a teaching, out of nowhere it would seem, this dream came back to the forefront of my thoughts along with the thought of how impossible it is to see a moose where we live. One single moose among deer nonetheless. It was then that this title HIT me: "BELIEVE God for the IMPOSSIBLE!"

The Good Teacher...

I don't have a problem believing God. To be honest, my issue sometimes is: I have yet to encounter God in this particular way before and it's hard for my mind to grasp that this is possible despite the absolute fact that Scripture tells us: "Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible” (Matthew 19:26 NLT)." He's so patient with us it just WOWs me.

I'm not sure how God has been teaching you to believe and trust Him, but I am an experiential learner and He is well aware of this. He created me, afterall. So I have been learning from God by going through experiences that then prove His written or spoken Word (rhema) to be true—mostly this way, but not exclusively. Holy Spirit teaches me in many ways.

For Example...

As a married woman, I can tell you that intimacy doesn't begin in the bedroom. It begins with the smallest acts of recognition, kindness, patience, love, time spent together, and fits of laughter, to name a few. Similarly, God's Word (the step before intimacy) is a foundation for the experiences He invites me to have with Him (intimacy).

I can imagine it being difficult for anyone to receive secrets from God if you're not spending time in His Word. I fall short here sometimes. Believe me, this isn't condemnation. If you're longing for God and not understanding why your relationship seems so stale, this may be an opportunity for readjustment for you. He doesn't mind starting over. His Word shares this beautiful truth with us: "²² The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; ²³ they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)." He'll show up. Are you willing? Here's another reminder that this relationship is one of a great deal of love, mercy, sometimes discipline, and yet so much more: "Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world (James 4:8 NLT)."

With all that being said...

Please BELIEVE God for the IMPOSSIBLE! Please don't allow anyone to rob you of your expectation. Sometimes it isn't intentional, they may not know any better. Be wise however, to not throw your pearls to swine (Matthew 7:6) expecting that they will know how to care for that treasure as you have been taught to by the Lord. We are all on individual journeys.

There is a joy we feel when we walk around confident that we don't know how He'll do it, but if God said it, it must be true.

More IMPOSSIBILITIES to Encourage You to BELIEVE God...

Genesis 21:1-6

Abraham's 100yr old seed impregnated Sarah's 90yr old womb because God promised them a son and they had Issac.

Joshua 14:10

Caleb waited 45yrs for his promise from God and he received it.

2 Kings 4:1-7

A widow about to lose her sons to slavery due to debt her deceased husband incurred and left his family was met by Elisha who told her to collect all the empty vessels she could and from one jar of olive oil that she had remaining in her home, she began to pour oil until every borrowed vessel was filled. She was able to pay all their debt, keep her sons, and could live off the leftover olive oil.

2 Kings 4:42-44; Matthew 14: 13-21; Matthew 15: 29-39

The feeding of multitudes occurs multiple times in Scripture. On one of these occasions, it is explicitly told to us that five fish and two loaves of bread were multiplied by God to feed five thousand men plus their families (Matthew 14:21). It is said that number could have been around twenty thousand in total. Even if twenty thousand was exaggerated, the historical record presented from the Bible accounts for five thousand. How could five fish and two loaves of bread have fed that many men if not for God?

Numbers 22: 28-30

God made it so a donkey would speak to Balaam, warning him about the danger he was stepping into had he taken the path he was on.

Joshua 24:27 NIV

“See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the LORD has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

Matthew 1:18 NIV

The prophecy of a virgin giving birth came to pass. That baby's name is Jesus the Messiah.

Luke 19:40

Jesus tells us that if He'd instructed the people to be quiet, the rocks would have cried out.

John 11:43-44

Jesus called a man dead four days to "...come forth." This man's name was Lazarus.

Acts 28:1-6

The Apostle Paul shook off a poisonous snake that had latched onto his hand into a fire. He was unharmed.

John the Revelator

I encourage you to search out some extra-biblical records on the accounts of how many times the Apostle John faced death but could not be killed: burning at the steak and being boiled alive. It's reported that he was ultimately exiled to the Isle of Patmos where by inspiration, he wrote The Book of Revelation.

I Leave You With This...

From the beginning of Scripture to the end and in between, there is a great deal of proof that many things seem IMPOSSIBLE, until they're done.

I pray this post will be an a encouragement to you to stir your faith and BELIEVE God for the IMPOSSIBLE because whether or not you understand HOW He'll do it, that one moose is showing up among the deer where you'd least expect it. Hallelujah and amen!
